Boston’s favorite drunk punks / riot-folk-ists The Swaggerin’ Growlers have just made a bunch of their music available for free download! We’re not just talking some old demos, we’re talking three generations of Growlitude, all available at no cost! The Growlers are currently in the studio working on a new album, they’ve made their first single “Outlaw Waltz” available for FREE download on Bostonpunk.org, all you’ve gotta do is sign up for their mailing list (don’t worry, they really don’t spam).

ALSO, the band has given PGB permission to put up a song from their most recent album Keep Your Head Held High for FREE download. We’ve chosen “Guilty of Being Poor,” our favorite track off of one of our favorite albums to make its way into the PGB office lately.

BUT WAIT, there’s more! (I always wanted to say that.) The Swaggerin’ Growlers’ first album, The Bottle And The Bow, has just hit out-of-print status. They ran out of copies and they’re not planning on pressing any more. Rather than let the album fade into obscurity, they’ve decided to put a torrent of the whole damn thing up for – you guessed it – FREE download! (note: you have to have torrent downloading software in order to use the below link properly, I recommend uTorrent, it’s very easy to use.)

The Swaggerin’ Growlers have a couple of great shows coming up this week if you’d like to thank them for all their free music generosity in person!

On Friday, 7/30, you can see them performing live outside in the middle of Central Square, as part of the Central Square Arts Outdoors series of weekly live music and events. They’ll be joined by Jason Bennett & The Resistance, another can’t-miss local band. Best part? It’s FREE! (Damn, we’ve been using that word a lot today) Show starts around 5pm, and is all ages. Presented by TT The Bears.

On Wednesday, 8/4, The Growlers will be part of the Scum Of The Earth Punk Rock night up at McGanns by the TD Banknorth Garden, a weekly series of some of the best punk rock in the area. They’ll be joined by the frantic antics of Brunt Of It, a longtime ska-punk favorite out of Rhode Island. The show is only $5, and they’ll have $2 beer specials all night! Presented by Babysitting Calamity Booking and F Nice Records.
