The 7th annual Rock The Village Music & Style Show took place at Harpers Ferry in Allston back on April 15th. The event featured local rockers Build A Machine, The Organ Beats, Planetoid, and Matalon and a host of models showing off the best in fashion from local Allston stores. The entire event was a benefit for Allston Village Main Streets, a local charity with the objective of beautifying the city of Allston and making it a better place for us all to live, visit, eat, shop, and/or rock out. The event was a smashing success, raising a healthy amount of money to make Rock City pretty again. Check out these pictures from the event, over 100 shots of the bands and the models, courtesy of local rock photographer JustBill.

PGB Pick: 7th Annual Rock The Village Music & Style Show – Thursday 4/15 @ Harpers Ferry

Allston’s been so good to you over the years… Some of the best people-watching in Boston, like funny-dressed hipsters and aspiring rock stars. Some of the best stores in Boston, like Horror Business and Rescue. Some of the best venues in Boston, like Great Scott, O’Briens, and Harpers Ferry. Some of the best bars in Boston, like Deep Ellum, Sunset, The Model, and The Silhouette. And of course some of the best bands in Boston… like WAY too many to mention here. So why not give a little back, and be thoroughly entertained in the process? Tonight at Harpers Ferry the entire damn borough is getting together to rock out to some amazing bands and ogle beautiful models showing off the latest fashions from local stores. All proceeds are getting funneled right back into the city, courtesy of the Allston Village Main Streets initiative, which has done wonders for this city in their 14 years of existence.
If you’re a PGB reader you know all about Planetoid, and we’ve spread the word about The Organ Beats and Build a Machine as well. They’ll be joined onstage by Matalon, fronted by Stingray Body Art owner Scott Matalon. This promises to be an incredible night – celebrate the diversity of Allston, the abundance of talent in Allston, and the long-awaited closing of The Kells in Allston!
