PGB Favorites The Lights Out have embarked on a media blitz in anticipation of their new album Color Machine, scheduled for release on September 25th. You’ve seen the posters all over Allston – You’ve read their posts all over the internet. They’ve also been offering one track per week for download on various music blogs leading up to the release (see below for links to each track!). We are honored to have been selected for the home stretch – PGB has been granted exclusive rights to make “Danny Partridge,” the final track off of the much-anticipated record, available to YOU – to stream AND to download! Check it out:

TLO AlbumColor Machine will feature 5 brand new tracks, as well as eight polished-up songs from their previous two EPs, The Lights Out (2007) and ¡Heist! (2008). This is easily one of the most highly anticipated releases of 2009, and is sure to vault The Lights Out to the next level!

Lead Singer Rishava Green gave us the backstory behind the album-closing song, Danny Partridge: “We built this one around a riff Adam came to practice with. The first words out of my mouth, on the fly, were “Danny Partridge is on TV/but Danny Partridge is not like me.” I tried and tried to resist, but that couplet stuck like glue. So I kind of had to work with that, and gradually it grew into a little still life of a small moment triggering a flight of fancy, launching a brain into contemplation of the meaning of it all before coming back down to earth again at the end.” Interesting stuff.

Color Machine is slated for release on September 25th. To celebrate the culmination of their efforts on the album, The Lights Out will be hosting a CD Release Party that night at TT The Bear’s in Central Square. They’ve arranged an incredible lineup of local rockers to take the stage with them – Township, Reverse, and Roman Traffic (formerly Gravehaven) are all featured on the bill. This is a can’t miss event – it’s only 4 days into fall and I’m already predicting it will be one of the best shows of the season! Tickets for this amazing show can be purchased online here, or via The Lights Out’s webpage (see link below)TLO Flyer
